There are also more affordable hotels than The Grand. Like Hotel Luxer for example. Hotel Luxer in Amsterdam Red Light District is ideal for travelers looking for a convenient stay near top city attractions. Hotel Luxer offers modern amenities and comfortable rooms, plus a delicious breakfast buffet served daily at Hotel Luxer’s Breakfast Corner. The hotel has received excellent reviews on Booking.com and guests appreciate its friendly staff, central location and convenience to public transport. Hotel Luxer is perfect for those who are looking for an enjoyable stay with easy access to the city’s vibrant entertainment and culture.
A pleasant surprise if ever there was one, this smart little number is probably the best option for your money in Amsterdam’s Red Light District. Rooms are small, but well equipped (air-conditioned), and at night the breakfast area becomes a chic little bar.
It’s a bit less luxurious than the number one on our list but this hotel would score number one if we solely based it on a price/ quality ratio. Breakfast costs just 8 euro. Another plus is that it’s just 200 meters from Amsterdam Central Station.
In our experience, the reception with a bar at Hotel Luxer is both unique and genius. You can sit down and enjoy a cocktail, water, soda, or coffee while watching TV and chatting with the hotel staff. We particularly enjoyed talking to one of the employees: Sky, who was able to give us some excellent recommendations for the Red Light District. When we checked out, they even gave us a little goody bag of snacks, a soda, and some lovely skin cream. We highly recommend this hotel!

The Barbizon Palace hotel with spacious rooms, some having 17th century wooden girders! The hotel offers a large wellness centre where visitors can take relaxing massages and it has an amazing restaurant too. Hotel Barbizon Palace is just 150 meters away from Central Station and surrounded by cozy Dutch bars like Cafe ‘t Aepjen – one of Amsterdam’s oldest bars.
Others advantages of staying in the Barbizon Palace is that it’s centrally located, close to the highlights of the capital and and well-insulated rooms that are noise-free.
We found the room we were given to be spacious with a superb view! Additionally, the concierge who was on duty during our check-in was very friendly and went out of their way to help us find a place to change, since we were carrying large luggage and couldn’t use the hotel lavatories by the stairs.

We loved our room. We found it clean, comfortable, and even had a beautiful rain shower in the lovely bathroom. During breakfast, the staff, particularly Donna, are always so friendly and helpful, and the breakfast spread is fantastic – served in a stunning room, no less. Our hotel venue is welcoming, tidy, and located in a convenient central location, making it easy for us to explore the surroundings. The staff are always eager to help and greet us with a smile, making our stay even more enjoyable.

The St. Christopher’s Hostel hops 24/7 with rock ‘n’ roll rooms and a busy club, bar, beer garden and smoking deck downstairs. Most private rooms are the ‘art’ rooms: local artists are given free rein, with super-edgy to questionably raunchy results.
This hotel offers dormitories filled with bunk beds instead of personal hotel rooms. It does however offer its own nightclub and is located on the oldest street of Amsterdam – in the Red Light District.

De Koopermolen is a two star, centrally located hotel. It’s only a five minute walk away from Central Station. The hotel offers simple but functional rooms. All rooms have a private bathroom and a little television. Breakfast is served every morning.
This hotel in the Red Light District is a great choice for those on budget and who be close to city’s highlights. Another advantage of this hotel is that you don’t need a taxi to get here. Just take the train from Amsterdam Airport to Central Station and walk to Warmoesstraat 5 .
BON À SAVOIR: Ask the concierges for fun things to do in Amsterdam. They are very much willing to help.
A small hotel that only offers budget rooms. All rooms have their own bathroom. The bar has the coolest touch of all the hotels in Amsterdam Red Light District: A wooden floor taken from a 17th century ship of Holland’s highest regarded war hero: Admiral de Ruyter.
We found the room to be of a generous size, and the ensuite was also well-appointed and impeccably clean. Its superb location put us just a stone’s throw away from a variety of bars, restaurants, and other entertainment venues, and we could reach Central Station in just six minutes on foot.
Regrettably, the noise emanating from partygoers in the streets and surrounding bars persisted well into the night, preventing us from getting a decent night’s sleep. Despite our early departure to catch a train to Schipol Airport, we were left feeling exhausted due to having only managed to sleep for three hours.
