Were it not for its trade in magic truffles (comparable to the now-banned psilocybin mushrooms, a.k.a. “magic mushrooms”) you might swear this large, charming space was a trendy clothing or homewares store. There’s a a coffee and juice bar and a chill-out lounge area overlooking Damrak street – the entrance of Amsterdam. Smart shop Kokopelli is the place which sells legal psychedelic drugs and it offers all the information and advise needed for a safe and beautiful, legal trip!
Kokopelli is a fertility god, usually depicted as a humpbacked flute player (usually with plumage or antenna-like protrusions on his head), who has been cherished by some Native American cultures in the Southwestern United States. Like most fertility gods, Kokopelli oversees over both childbirth and cultivation. He is also a trickster god and represents the spirit of music.
This smart shop is located on the oldest street of Amsterdam: The Warmoesstraat. Kokopelli was founded in 1996 by Veronique Verschueren – who is still owner today. Veronique is part of our app called Amsterdam Audio Tours. Together with 21 other experts they tell more about the Red Light District, the city, drugs, Holland’s history, prostitution, food and Dutch culture. It’s really interesting!
