Rijksmuseum Amsterdam

The Rijksmuseum which translated into English means the state museum, has existed for more than 200 years. In 1890 a building made from the fragments of demolished buildings in Amsterdam was added to the Rijksmuseum. These buildings when assembled gave the museum an overview of Dutch architectural legacy. The museum itself has one million pieces in the collection, but the four hundred most famous pieces are collected in the fragmented section (also called the Philips wing) of the Rijksmuseum under the exhibition name “The Masterpieces”. As one of the most breathtaking museums, it hosts collections paintings of famous Dutch and World artists such as Rembrandt’s ‘Night Watch’ and other several paintings by Jan Steen and Van Dyck.

Barney’s Coffeeshop

By far the biggest and best kitchen any coffeeshop has to offer, from great Irish breakfasts to daily lunch specials and plenty of vegetarian options. The organic buds complement the food perfectly.

Basjoe

The canal view alone places Basjoe among our favourite coffeeshops in town. Candlelit, with soft vinyl terracotta booths and cream walls, it’s all about the weed here – and the outstanding coffee.

Easy Times

Coffeeshop Easy Times

Coffeeshop Easy Times has been around since 1985, but in 2088 it changed owners and was completely renovated. It brings to mind a mini Supperclub in black with its low-lighting and loungey leather banquettes. There’s a live DJ on Friday and Saturdays, a Volcano Vaporizer, three different space cakes (ranging from €6 to €10) and the most options for single joints.

Their list touts 16 types of weed with a good range of sativa and indica selections.

Abraxas

Abraxas has long been regarded as one of Amsterdam’s finest coffeeshops. Located on Jonge Roelensteeg, a small alleyway linking the main shopping street Kalverstraat with Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, the shop offers a varied and quality smokers’s menur as well as goodies like ready-to-smoke joints, space cakes and herbal beverages.

The coffeeshop Abraxas sells a big variety of weed and hasj. The weed menu looks like this: White Widow, Juicy Fruit, Apple Jack, Amnesia Haze, Bubba Kush, Skunk, Hawaiian Haze and cheese. The weed menu contains: Red Libanon, Super pollen, Himalaya, Ketama, Ice and Abraxas Delight.

At coffeeshop you can buy a pre-rolled weed joint from 3.50 Euros. The hasj-joints can be bought from 3 Euro. Obviously, it’s cheaper to buy per gram (0.035 ounce) or even 5 gram. Prices per gram varies between 10 and 15 Euros.

The décor is mystical and atmosphere is really great. Coffeeshop Abraxas has two floors. On the second floor you’ll find some sofas, where you can chillax and roll your joint in peace. They also offer some boardgames, so if you feel like playing chess, just ask the personnel for it.

Coffeeshop Abraxas has free internet access (and an internet hotspot)

Amnesia

Located off the main tourist routes, Amnesia is often cool and quiet, though it occasionally fills up with locals. Their pre-rolled joints are strong yet smokable, and the drinks menu is more than expensive.
