Het hotel heeft een uitstekende reputatie en staat bekend om zijn schone kamers en vriendelijk personeel. Het hotel biedt ook een verscheidenheid aan voorzieningen, waaronder een fitnesscentrum, een businesscentrum en een restaurant. Een nieuw hotel in een van de oudste straten van Amsterdam.<\/p>\n<a class=\"maxbutton-12 maxbutton maxbutton-book-here\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"KLIK HIER!\" rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/hotel\/nl\/mai-amsterdam.en.html?aid=1155540&#038;no_rooms=1&#038;group_adults=2\"><span class='mb-text'>BOEK NU &gt;<\/span><\/a>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Oprichter Arjen Van den Hof over de nieuwste aanwinst van een hotel in Amsterdam: \u2018<span lang=\"en\">Het verhaal van het gebouw en de buurt spelen een belangrijke rol in mijn interesse in een mogelijk nieuw project. In dit project wordt de rijke (culturele) geschiedenis en ontwikkeling van <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Zeedijk\" rel=\"noopener\">Chinatown<\/a> op <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/nl\/information\/amsterdams-red-light-district\/\">De Wallen in Amsterdam<\/a> bleek een onuitputtelijke bron van inspiratie. Vanaf het begin werd ik overspoeld met idee\u00ebn. Speciaal voor Mai Amsterdam maakte hij een Aziatisch ge\u00efnspireerde serie schilderijen. Iversen bewerkte zijn zelfgemaakte foto's van Chinese architectuur artistiek met verf en andere oorspronkelijk gekozen materialen. Daarnaast zijn bloemenschilderijen, gemaakt in een combinatie van verf en borduurwerk, een veelvoorkomend werk in deze serie.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"dURPtb\">Wie het hotel bezoekt zal even moeten wennen aan een hotel met vier en zes verdiepingen. De ene lift gaat niet naar mezzanine 2.5, de andere wel. Lange jaren, met een crisis, banken die eerst enthousiast werden en daarna terughoudend en \u2013 toen er weer geld was \u2013 aannemers die het te druk hadden. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Translation\"><span lang=\"en\">En daar was het bezwaar, net als bij andere recente nieuwe Hotels in onder andere Amsterdam: meer drukte, overlast, rommel. \u201cOp de laatste dag dat er bezwaar kon worden gemaakt, heeft iemand toch bezwaar gemaakt tegen Hotel Mai Amsterdam\u201d, vertelt eigenaar Kin-Ping Dun in de lobby. De individuele eigendommen zijn al lang in zijn familie, die ook eigenaar is van de Asian Shop Dun Yong. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Translation\"><span lang=\"en\">\u201cIn de loods stonden spullen voor de Asian Shop en onze groothandel, maar ook allerlei kunstvoorwerpen die mijn ouders hadden verzameld. In het andere deel hebben we eind 2001 een Chinees winkelcentrum gerealiseerd. Volgens Kin-Ping waren er nauwelijks alternatieven. \u201cDe indeling van de gebouwen voldeed niet aan de bouwregels voor permanente bewoning. Dan had je bijna alles moeten slopen en nieuwe gebouwen moeten bouwen, midden op de Wallen. Toen de overheid nog een groot voorstander was van nieuwe hotels, waren gemeente, stadsdeel, Stadsherstel en NV Zeedijk het er roerend mee eens. <\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Translation\">Dit was niet voor iedereen het geval <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/nl\/de-wallen-amsterdam\/\">De Wallen<\/a>, daarom is het een bezwaar. Het verzet tegen Hotel Mai Amsterdam leek de familie niet verdedigbaar. Aangezien de ontwerpen dateren uit 2006, vielen ze nooit onder de hotelstop die het stadsbestuur later aankondigde in haar pogingen de toeristenmassa te beteugelen. De rechter oordeelde anders. \u201cWe hadden een vergunning voor 83 kamers, maar er stond een typefout in een hotellijst van de gemeente; er waren 63 kamers. De rechtbank vond dat zo belangrijk dat ze het hele project meteen vernietigden. Wat we verdienden bij de Asian Shop verdween in dit project. Het had niet veel langer kunnen duren. Wij zijn geen projectontwikkelaar die daar allerlei fondsen voor heeft.\u201d Hij begrijpt de zorgen. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Translation\"><span lang=\"en\">\u201cWe maken al zo lang deel uit van deze buurt dat ik echt zie wat de bezwaren zijn. We beloofden het hotel niet snel te verkopen en wisten al heel vroeg dat we voor de operatie zouden samenwerken met Vondel Hotels. Met een bus vol buurtbewoners gingen we naar hun Hotel De Hallen, om te laten zien wat voor hotelgroep dat is. Dat hielp wel. Maar mensen die het niet willen geloven, overtuig je niet.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Translation\"><span lang=\"en\">In the end they had to take it up to the Board of State level to dismantle the consequences of the typing error. The family made more promises, laid down in the permits. The hotel has a separate restaurant, MAI Kitchen, with its own entrance on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/nl\/news\/amsterdam-zeedijk\/\">Zeedijk<\/a>. That entrance is not for Hotel Mai Amsterdam guests. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Translation\"><span lang=\"en\">\u201cDat was de afspraak met Stadsherstel; geen koffers op de Zeedijk. Een andere deal betreft de Elleboogsteeg tussen de Zeedijk en de Geldersekade, die de hotelgebouwen van elkaar scheidt. Dit steegje was jaren gesloten, nu gaat het weer open. \u201cDat is een wens van het stadsdeel; niet ons idee. We hadden het liever bij het hotel laten horen, overdekt. Maar dat ging de wijk te ver. Het is een look die ik niet ken, maar die heel goed voelt. Arjen van den Hof, had veel contact met mijn ouders. Veel van de kunst die hier nu staat komt uit onze winkel. Ik zie sommige beelden nog precies op hun plek in de rekken staan, onder tl-licht.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Translation\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Parking_At_Hotel_Mai\"><\/span>Parking At Hotel Mai<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Translation\">Er is parkeergelegenheid aan de voorzijde van Hotel Mai. Aan de kant van de weg, aan de gracht, zijn tientallen parkeerplaatsen. Parkeer je liever niet op de openbare weg, ga dan hier:<\/p>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Translation\">Oosterdok<\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Translation\">The Oosterdok parking garage is the great place to park your car in Amsterdam. It is cheap and easily accessible, with a variety of payment options available. There are also electric car charging stations available. The Oosterdok <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/nl\/news\/p-r-amsterdam\/\">parking<\/a> garage is centrally located, making it easy to get to your destination.
