The rich history of the Red Light District was discussed and our guide showed the highlights of the area, like: world\u2019s first condom shop, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/nl\/history-of-amsterdam\/old-church\/\">De Oude Kerk<\/a>, the window brothels, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/nl\/news\/10-best-coffeeshops-in-amsterdam\/\">coffeeshops<\/a>, the typical Dutch architecture, the last <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/nl\/entertainment\/amsterdam-peep-show\/\">peep show<\/a> in the Netherlands, transgender &amp; female sex workers, the infamous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/nl\/news\/amsterdam-zeedijk\/\">Zeedijk<\/a> street,\u00a0hidden art and much more&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/nl\/tour\/tickets-moulin-rouge-amsterdam\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-11925 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Amsterdam-Red-Light-District-Tour-Filemon-op-de-Wallen.jpg\" alt=\"Red Light District Tour Filemon op de Wallen\" width=\"800\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Amsterdam-Red-Light-District-Tour-Filemon-op-de-Wallen.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Amsterdam-Red-Light-District-Tour-Filemon-op-de-Wallen-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Amsterdam-Red-Light-District-Tour-Filemon-op-de-Wallen-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Amsterdam-Red-Light-District-Tour-Filemon-op-de-Wallen-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Amsterdam-Red-Light-District-Tour-Filemon-op-de-Wallen-180x180.jpg 180w, https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Amsterdam-Red-Light-District-Tour-Filemon-op-de-Wallen-600x600.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Not_Just_The_Highlights_Of_The_Red_Light_District_Were_Discussed\"><\/span>Not Just The Highlights Of The Red Light District Were Discussed<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Besides the highlights subjects like the safety measures on the Red Light District, Dutch liberalism and open mindedness, sexual education in the Netherlands and Dutch drug policies were discussed.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_Did_The_Tourists_And_Filemon_React_To_The_Red_Light_District\"><\/span>How Did The Tourists And Filemon React To The Red Light District?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>During the recording for Filemon op de Wallen, Filemon asked questions to both the tourists and our local guide. Filemon was particularly interested in the views that the tourists had about the Red Light District of Amsterdam. Where do you get all your information? What can be done about the big crowds in the Red Light District? What is your opinion about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/nl\/news\/amsterdam-red-light-district-rules\/\">the recently implemented covenant with the City of Amsterdam<\/a>? Do you tell the tourists not to take pictures of the sex workers? Etcetera.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Filemon_Wesselinks_Rise_To_Dutch_Fame\"><\/span>Filemon Wesselink&#8217;s Rise To Dutch Fame<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Filemon_Wesselink\">Filemon Wesselink<\/a> arrived into the Dutch national spotlight when he became the last person to do a radio interview with Dutch politician <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pim_Fortuyn\">Pim Fortuyn<\/a> just minutes before he was assassinated. By pure coincidence he also witnessed the arrest of the assassin. After that the Netherlands got to know him a little better with the TV program &#8220;Injecting And Swallowing&#8221; (Spuiten en Slikken). In this program he tried out a different type of drug every week on Dutch National television.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Production_House_De_Witte_Geit_De_White_Goat\"><\/span>Production House De Witte Geit (De White Goat)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The documentary is being produced by production house De Witte Geit, established in 2014. The company is owned by Pim Castelijn and Balt van Zeggeren. Van Zeggeren also joined us on the tour during the recording night.<\/p>\n<p>The duo behind the De Witte Geit have produced some of Holland&#8217;s best known TV programs like: Try Before You Die, Ranking The Stars And Spuiten En Slikken Op Reis (Injecting And Swallowing Travels Abroad).
