class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Every year the Dutch Drug Information and Monitoring System (DIMS) releases a report about tested drugs in the Netherlands. The organisation has a countrywide network of test locations set up to give insights into the illegal Dutch\u00a0drugs market. DIMS does research into the substances contained in illegal drugs, the health risks associated with them and analyses trends in the drug market.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Drugs_Information_Netherlands\"><\/span>Drugs Information Netherlands<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>There are a few legal drug test labs\u00a0in the Netherlands\u00a0where people can get their illegal drugs tested. Most of these labs are located in the major cities in the Netherlands. Amsterdam has a few. These legal businesses\u00a0test the ingredients of illegal drugs (XTC, amphetamine, cocaine, MDMA, etc.) and it\u2019s 100% legal. They\u00a0share their expertise\u00a0about drugs and alcohol, its quality, effects and risks. This is the Dutch approach on informing people about drugs &#8211; The government rather have someone using drugs safer\u00a0by testing it than less safe without doing so. In Amsterdam there are two official drug test labs called <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ggd.amsterdam.nl\/drugs\/drugstestservice\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">GGD<\/a> und <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jellinek.nl\/english\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jellinek<\/a>. These are mostly visited by locals because tourists don&#8217;t know this.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_2015_Drug_Results_Netherlands\"><\/span>The 2015 Drug Results Netherlands<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Drug-Facts-Netherlands.jpeg\"><br \/>\n<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/de\/news\/10-tips-for-using-drugs-in-amsterdam\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8489 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Drug-Facts-Netherlands.jpeg\" alt=\"Dutch Drug Information and Monitoring System Netherlands\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Drug-Facts-Netherlands.jpeg 800w, https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Drug-Facts-Netherlands-300x169.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><em>XTC\/MDMA test in one of Amsterdam&#8217;s\u00a0drug test labs.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The number of tested XTC samples has more than <strong>doubled since 2005<\/strong>. The average amount of MDMA per pill rose from <strong>81 to a 150mg<\/strong> during that same time period. The second most turned in drugs for testing was cocaine, <strong>13 percent of all samples were cocaine<\/strong>. Cocaine is often diluted with levamisole, which adds extra health risks. In 2015 cocaine powder samples contained <strong>on average 64% of pure cocaine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Total Number of Drug Samples Increased Again<\/p>\n<p>The Dutch Drug Information and Monitoring System notes that, surprisingly, in 2015 the total number of handed in samples increased again substantially. The number of <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/4-Fluoroamphetamine\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">4-Fluoroamphetamine<\/a> samples doubled since last year. After XTC\/MDMA, cocaine and <strong>speed 4-FA<\/strong> is now the most handed in drug recorded by the\u00a0Dutch Drug Information and Monitoring System.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_Does_The_Dutch_Drug_Information_and_Monitoring_System_Work\"><\/span>How Does The\u00a0Dutch Drug Information and Monitoring System Work?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/de\/news\/10-tips-for-using-drugs-in-amsterdam\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-14074\" src=\"http:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Dutch-Drug-Information-and-Monitoring-System-1.jpg\" alt=\"Dutch Drug Information and Monitoring System XTC\" width=\"644\" height=\"457\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Dutch-Drug-Information-and-Monitoring-System-1.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Dutch-Drug-Information-and-Monitoring-System-1-300x213.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Dutch-Drug-Information-and-Monitoring-System-1-768x545.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 644px) 100vw, 644px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Different types of organizations across the Netherlands are connected to the\u00a0Dutch Drug Information and Monitoring System. They offer weekly consulting-hours. During consulting-hours drug users can present their drugs for testing. If the taken drugs sample corresponds with samples in the database the drug user will immediately be informed about the safety profile of the drugs. If the drug sample doesn\u2019t appear in the database a sample will be sent to the test lab for further analysis. After a week the results will be relayed to the drug provider.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes a drug test leads to such alarming results that a national warning is issued, sometimes with help of the Dutch government. In 2015 this happened for instance because of very high doses of MDMA in XTC pills. During the Amsterdam Dance Event in 2015 there was a pill on the market with a MDMA dosis of 300 milligram.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Collected_Drug_Samples_And_Their_Risks\"><\/span>The Collected Drug\u00a0Samples And Their Risks:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Dutch Drug Information and Monitoring System made an overview of the drug samples and accompenying risks.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"XTC_MDMA\"><\/span>XTC\/ MDMA<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong>57% of all samples<\/strong> that were handed in at\u00a0DIMS contained <strong>more than 140 mg&#8217;s of MDMA<\/strong>. The strongest pill of 2015 contained a stagering 293 mg of MDMA.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><em><strong>Risks:<\/strong><\/em> Overheating, exhaustion, brain damage.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/de\/news\/10-tips-for-using-drugs-in-amsterdam\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-14078 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Dutch-Drug-Information-and-Monitoring-System-3.jpg\" alt=\"Dutch Drug Information and Monitoring System XTC Pills\" width=\"800\" height=\"385\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Dutch-Drug-Information-and-Monitoring-System-3.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Dutch-Drug-Information-and-Monitoring-System-3-300x144.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.amsterdamredlightdistricttour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Dutch-Drug-Information-and-Monitoring-System-3-768x370.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/h3>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cocaine\"><\/span>Cocaine<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong>13% of all samples<\/strong> were cocaine. Cocaine often gets cut up with\u00a0levamisole,\u00a0a medication used to treat parasitic worm\u00a0infections.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><em><strong>Risks<\/strong><strong>:\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Paranoia, Strong dependence, ways heavy on the body, cardiovascular problems. Lung damage from smoking, abscess from needling, nasal mucosa infection from snorting cocaine.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><em><strong>Cocaine cut up with\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Levamisole\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">levamisole<\/a> can lead to:\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>weakened immune\u00a0system, fever, rash, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, headaches, disorder and dizziness.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Speed\"><\/span>Speed<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">The amount of amphetamines in speed samples handed over to Dutch Drug Information and Monitoring System varies per year. In 2015 the average percentage was <strong>46 percent<\/strong>. It first showed up at DIMS back in 2017. Since then it&#8217;s the fastest growing sample test drug. In 2015 more 4-FA samples were tested than in all previous years combined.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><em><strong>Risks:<\/strong> <\/em><strong>Exhaustion, nausea, vomiting, headache, disorder, dizziness, heart palpitations.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ketamine\"><\/span>Ketamine<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ketamine\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ketamine<\/a> also gets tested a lot, in the last five years test samples have <strong>tripled<\/strong> at Dutch Drug Information and Monitoring System. In 2015 Ketamine samples had an average purity of <strong>77 percent<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><em><strong>Risks:<\/strong><\/em> Bad Trip, nausea, vomiting, respiration problems, muscle rigidity or muscle paralysis.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2C-B\"><\/span>2C-B<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/2C-B\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2C-B<\/a> is mostly found in pill form and occasionally in powder form. The effects of 2C-B are strongly\u00a0dependent on the dose. <strong>95%<\/strong> of all tested samples actually was\u00a02C-B.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><em><strong>Risks:<\/strong><\/em> Bad Trip, effects are stronger than expected\/ overdose.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"LSD\"><\/span>LSD<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong>Two percent<\/strong> of all tested samples were LSD but more than <strong>25%<\/strong>\u00a0of them were something completely different.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><em><strong>Risks:<\/strong> <\/em>Bad trip, Nausea, Flashbacks.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(This article was last updated on the 23rd of March, 2018.)
