Definitely a rose among hors: a long, often graffiti-covered alley in the heart of the Red Light District leads to this Garden of Eden. Originally a 17th-century herb warehouse, the whitewashed, exposed-brick, multilevel space still features old steel weights & measures, plus friendly, knowledgable service and refined French-and Italian-inspired cooking.
In the summer grab a table in the super romantic garden and enjoy the peace in Amsterdam’s oldest neighborhood.
Restaurant Blauw aan de Wal is not easy to find. It’s located just next to a stripclub called The Hospital Bar on the Oudezijds Achterburgwal. You have to walk through a narrow alley. Here you’ll find the most fancy restaurant of the area.
Our local guides can show you this hidden restaurant if you want. Just ask us during the Red Light District tour.
In a hidden away ancient spices warehouse you can eat deliciously. Price around 60€ p.p.
