Precinct Red Light District
This is definitely one of our favorite products in our Red Light District Shop, as it contains true stories of police officer Piet Middelkoop. He worked in the Red Light District during the 1970’s and 1980’s. Back then, the Red Light District was a no-go area and considered as the unsafest area of Holland. In that time it was only about sex & drugs – somewhat like a ghetto. The Zeedijk-street was filled with heroin dealers and junkies who did everything to get money for this addictive drug.
Real Cop Stories from Precinct Red Light District
Piet worked at “Bureau Warmoesstraat” (the Dutch name for Precinct Red Light District). His job was to keep to streets as safe as possible. Every day he had to deal with prostitutes, junkies, thieves, drug dealers, local residents, tourists and corrupt co-workers. Working here in that specific time was quite intense and resulted in unforgettable memories of a special period in one of the most fascinating areas in the world. This awesome comic book gives you an idea how it used to be like in the Red Light District.
